All told about 50-75 scientists work at LIRI at any given time, in a variety of veterinary and research disciplines. And, of course, there are lots of support personnel as well. The monkey scientists (primatologists) are a rowdy bunch, but there are only 3-4 of them full time. They spend most of their time in the field, observing the free-range rhesus monkeys that inhabit Loggerhead Island year-round. Sound like a cool job?
