TEAM RED IS HERE FOR THE FINAL FALL YASH!

Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes! On this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, but you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for a few days!

Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are THREE contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the RED TEAM–but there is also a blue team and a purple team for a chance to win a whole different set of books!

If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page.

SCAVENGER HUNT POST

Today, I am hosting Melanie Hooyenga on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt!  Multi-award winning young adult author Melanie Hooyenga writes books about strong girls who learn to navigate life despite its challenges. When not at her day job as Communications Director at a local nonprofit, you can find her wrangling her Miniature Schnauzer Owen and playing every sport imaginable with her husband Jeremy.

Check out CHASING THE SUN

The new boy. The quiet girl. Will they find love during the solar eclipse? Neb Connelly has looked forward to the solar eclipse for as long as he can remember. when his only friend in his new town invites him on a school camping trip to watch it, he’s there. And only 67% of his wanting to go is because of the quiet girl on the group text his friend started. She gets his jokes, doesn’t mind when he geeks out about the eclipse, and for the first time in months, he’s ready to chase the sun.

Recently single Sage Winters fears she’s too damaged for love, but her self-help-loving best friend drags her on a “path of self healing”- which apparently includes going camping with twenty classmates to see the solar eclipse. And Neb, who she’s never met but whose silly space jokes turn her insides to mush, will be there. But when they finally meet in person, another girl stakes her claim on him. Does Sage run the other way to save her heart, or risk it all for a chance at happiness with this space boy?

Book one in the Campfire Series, Chasing the Sun, is a lighthearted romance with space puns, Portland shenanigans, and enough feels to totally eclipse your heart.

If you love this summary, as much as I do, then you can order the book here!

Exclusive Content — Chasing the Sun Playlist!

I’ve always been a huge Taylor Swift fan. Her album Lover came out as I was finalizing the outline for Chasing the Sun and I admit I was mildly obsessed. (As were a lot of people — it’s such a fun album!) My previous book was dark and had an equally dark playlist, so for my fun, summer kissing book, it seemed obvious to listen to Lover over and over and over.

I didn’t intend for it to be my official playlist—it felt a bit like cheating to not curate a list myself—but it just fit. And if you’ve read the book, you’ll see how the songs match up with the plot of the book. And…. I admit I slipped a line from London Boy into the end of the book!

Now that you’re totally singing London Boy in your head like I am don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of books by me, Melanie, and more! To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is 2. Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the RED team and you’ll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize!
